A construction worker died after being electrocuted at MerulBadda in the capital on Sunday.
The victim was identified as Mohammad Arif, 26,son of Rofiqul Islam of Dasherhaat area of Madaripur.
He was electrocuted at around 1:30pm and rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH)where doctor declared him dead at around 2:00pm.
His colleague Md. Emdadul said, they were working to lift the rods from the second floor to the sixth floor of an under-construction building on road number 6 of MerulBadda's DIT project. Suddenly, he came in contact with an electric wire and became fainted. After being electrocuted, he was quickly sent to DMCH.
Incharge of DMCH police camp Mohammad Bachchu Miah confirmed the death and said the body was kept at the DMCH morgue.
