The construction work of much waited 200-bed Shishu Hospital started in Mymensingh.
The Children Ward of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital had been facing great difficulties with more patients than seats. According to a reports, 746 patients were admitted against only 110 seats on Saturday (Nov 11). So , a new Shishu hospital is must in the district.
DrMdNazrul Islam, Civil Surgeon of Mymensingh said that, at first the outdoor and office activities will start. The construction of ward and admission of patients will begin later. The project work has been delayed because of proper land.
Public Works Department invited tender after land was managed. The estimated cost of the hospital is about Tk 30 crore. The construction work will be finished in September nexyyear (2024).
MdMustafizur Rahman, DC, Mymensingh informed that all necessaries formalities have been done on the land and it was handed over to the Public Works Department.
Zillur Rahman, Executive Engineer, Public Works Department, Mymensingh said that contactor has been appointed for the construction of the Shishu Hospital and the allocated land was also handed over to them. So, he is hopeful that the work will be finished within fixed time.
