The construction of a bridge using PC Guarder Technology has almost been completed by the Engineering Department of LGED in Shariatpur. It is expected, the construction farm would hand over the bridge to Shariatpur sadar upazila Engineer on December 30 next and on the first week of January 2020, the bridge will formally inaugurated by Iqbal Hossain Opu, Member of Parliament of Shariatpur-1 constituency. This bridge will connect thousands of people of South and West Bhasanchar of Madaripur district to the people of Shariatpur district.
Shariatpur upazila engineer office sources informed, the 99 metre long and seven metre wide bridge with 200 metre long connecting road in each side has been constructed by Hamim International construction company at a cost of Taka 46.262 million( Taka four crore 62 lakh 62 thousand) though using PC Guarder Technology for the first time. The construction works of the bridge has been completed and now only works of dying is going on, sources said. Abdul Waab Matbar, Director of Hamim International Construction informed, this is for the first time they were able to construct a bridge using PC Guarder technology on Kirtinasha river at Bhasanchar of Angaria.
Alam Mia, Upazila Engineer of Shariatpur informed, this is for the first time a bridge using PC Guarder technology has been completed with 100 percent success. The officials of Engineering department were always watchful to maintain full standard of the works of the bridge because a large scale accident may be occurred due to non-maintenance of 100 percent standard of works.
