Construction of bridge over Bhairab river likely to begin soon

Damurhuda Upazila Engineering Department drew a design for construction a bridge at village Patachura-Baghadanga on the river Bhairab in Damurhuda upazila of Chuadanga district and sent the design of the bridge to Project Director of the concerned section for approval. 

Mahbub-ul Hoque, Upazila Engineer of Damurhuda upazila Engineering Office said, “We have completed soil test and measurement of the bridge. The length and width of the bridge will be 96 meters and 5.5 meters.” 

Hurmot Ali, an older man of village Patachura in Damurhuda upazila of the district said, “The basin of the river is filled with water in rainy season. For crossing the river boatmen use boats for the students, professionals, pregnant women, patients.  At times, some of them fall down in the river.” 

Abu Taher from village Baghadanga said, “Patachura, Baghadanga, Subolpur, Bastopur villages are on the both side of the river. The villagers have been suffering for long to cross the river for want of bridge.” 

Shahidul Islam of village Bastopur in the upazila said, about 48,000 people are in the areas. The people feel happy to know  that  there will be the construction of the bridge. 

Khalilur Rahman, Chairman of Karpashdanga Union Parishad in Damurhuda upazila said, “Students of villages Subadpur, Kanchantola and Baghadanga are to go Patachuara High School crossing the river by boat at the risk of life in rainy season.”

Dilara Rahman, UNO of Damurhuda Upazila said, “We are trying to construct the bridge on the river to remove sufferings of people of  the areas.”
