Construction of 62 educational institutions underway in Narail

Construction and development work of 62 educational institutions is underway under the Narail Education Engineering Department at a cost of Tk 240 crore 95 lakh in three upazilas of Narail district.
Education Engineering Office sources said, under the project of development of non-government secondary schools, each school was sanctioned taka three and a half crore of total expenditure is taka cost of 21 crore to Shatodal secondary school, Chasra Nofel Uddin Secondary School, Chakulia Secondary School, Shekhati-Tampanbagh School, Guakhola high School,JMP Altab Molla Secondary School and each school sactioned two crore and 80 lakh of total expenditure is 8 crore 40 lakh to the buildings construction of KDM Secondary School, Tabara Nabakrishna Secondary School and Trimohani Secondary School is being constructed.Under the project upward expansion of Non-Government Secondary Schools each school sactioned taka one crore and 25 lakh of total expenditure is taka cost of 10 crore to Ratadanga Secondary School, Shinga-sholpur Secondary School, RK Janata Secondary School, JA Chowdhury Secondary School, Dutta Secondary School, Lohagara Pilot Secondary girls high School, Tularampur Secondary School and Shahbagh Secondary School upward expansion is being done. Under the project development of post graduate colleges of the district headquarters at a cost of Tk one crore 80 lakh to extend the upward expansion of the government Victoria College's Academic Cum Examination Center building, at a cost of tk one crore 65 lakh to extend the upward expansion of the government Victoria College's science building and at a cost of Tk one crore 25 lakh to extend the upward expansion of the government Victoria College's commerce building.
Sources said, SMA Ahad College, at a cost of Taka two crore 50 lakh, Shaheed Abdus Salam Degree College at a cost of Tk one and 20 lakh and the work of Bir pratik Habibul Alam College is underway at a cost of Tk one and 20 lakh under the project of development of selected non-government colleges with ICT facilities. Besides, the work of Itna School and College, Nabaganga Degree College, Abdul High City College and Ashar Alo College has already been completed at a cost of Tk 4 crore 80 lakh under the project. Under the Secondary Education Sector Development Scheme (SESIP) with financial support from the Asian Development Bank, work is underway of Mallikpur Union Secondary School at a cost of tk 75 lakh, Shahbag United Academy at a cost of tk 65 lakh and on the horizontal expansion of the District Education Building at a cost of Tk 55 lakh.
Under the revenue budget, the construction and expansion of new buildings of government and non-government educational institutions under the project of SMA Ahad College, Sammelani Adarsha School and Mahajan-Ghoshibaria Secondary School at a cost of Tk 75 lakh each school. Narail Fazil Madrasa, Gobra Parbati Secondary School and Mallickpur Union Secondary school at a cost of Tk 65 each School is underway. Development works of Mulia Secondary School, Dattapara Secondary School, Charikhada Secondary Girls' School, Islamabad Dakhil Madrasa, Bir Shrestha Noor Mohammad Secondary School and Shibshankar Secondary School have been undertaken at a cost of taka 4 crore 50 lakh. Under the project of repairs and renovations of government educational institutions as Government Victoria College, Government Women's College, Narail Government Technical School and College, Narail Government High School, Narail Government girl’s High School, Lohagara Government Adarsha College, Lohagara Government Pilot secondary School Government Abdus Salam degree College and Kalia Government Pilot High School have been undertaken at a cost of Tk one crore 50 lakh.
Under the project development of Non-Government Madrasas, a total of Tk 25 crore construction program has been undertaken for the construction of four-storied Madrasah academic buildings. Out of these, tenders have been called for the construction of seven Madrasah buildings. The tender for the construction of the remaining three madrasas is under process.
Assistant Engineer of the Narail Education Engineering Department Md. Ashraful Haque said an engineering college would be set up in Narail district of Khulna division under the project of setting up one engineering college in each division of Khulna, Rajshahi, Sylhet and Barisal. Initially, the project cost about taka 150 crore. Land acquisition process for setting up an engineering college in the district is underway, he said.
