A mobile court fined the much-talked firm Sajin Constructions Tk. one lakh for lack of security measures and necessary equipment for the construction labours of multistoried residential building at Greencity of Ruppur Nuclear Electricity Centre in Ishwardi of Pabna.
Ahamed Hossain Bhuiyan, UNO of Ishwardi, led the mobile court and realized the fine on Monday afternoon. Before this, the Sajin Constructions was fined Tk.50000 on 17 April on the same allegation.
It is learnt from the sources of the UNO office that this constuction firm continued the construction work in violation to the building code. In construction of the Greeencity Bhaban, this construction firm did not arrange or take any security measures for the construction workers at the construction site. As there was no necessary equipment to avoid accident, and to ensure saftey, the Pabna Public Works Department filed a complaint to the UNO office in this regard. On the basis of the complaint, the UNO led the mobile court.
The mobile court found the truth on the scene, and then the UNO under section 12 of the Building Code 1952 fined the site engineer Tanib Hossain of Sajin Constructions Tk. 1 lakh.
UNO Ahmed Hossain Bhuiyan said, as the building code was not follwed in the construction, a construction worker of of Sajin Constructions died from falling from the building. So, to implement the building code, drive like this will contunue.
