Confidence Group to give disinfection chamber to coronavirus fighters

A disinfection chamber for the health protection of doctors, nurses and medical workers will be handed over to Sheikh Russel Gastro Liver Institute and Hospital on 11 July 2020 Saturday at 12:30PM. 

Prof. Faruk Ahmed, director of this hospital will receive the chamber. Hospital Joint directors, Confidence Group’s Chief HR & Corporate Communication Officer Mohammed Tariqul Islam, Chief Coordinator of “Safe2DOFF” project Prof. Dr. A.B.M. Toufique Hasan, Department of Mechanical Engineering of BUET and other senior doctors of the hospitals and officials of Safe2DOFF project will be present during the handover ceremony.

The chamber is contributed by Confidence Group under its corporate social responsibility (CSR). They will provide a good number of chambers to other hospitals in Dhaka and Chattogram in this month.

Eleven engineers, planners and architects of BUET batch’97 led by Prof. Dr. A.B.M. Toufique Hasan, Department of Mechanical Engineering of Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET) developed this uniquely designed disinfection chamber named “Safe2DOFF”. 

The biosafety and environmental aspects of this chamber are complied with the guidelines of CDC-US, US-EPA, NIOSH, etc. This disinfection chamber will facilitate an added layer of protection for the healthcare professionals to combat with the current COVID-19 pandemic. The proper usage of this chamber will ensure the safety, confidence and psychological boost-up of health services in the hospitals. 

This is the 5th chamber which is scheduled to be installed at this hospital. Earlier “Safe2DOFF” disinfection chambers are being used by Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), Govt. Employees Hospital, Kurmitola General Hospital and Kuwait-Bangladesh Friendship Govt. Hospital.
