Organisations concerned won’t take responsibility

Television related organizations have relaxed the old decision to stop shooting due to coronavirus. As a result, anyone can take part in shooting from today. However, some conditions must be met for this.

Last Friday, the issue was finalized by a joint decision of the leaders of the Television Program Producers Association of Bangladesh, Directors Guild, Obhinoy Shilpi Sangha and other concerned organizations.

Actor-producer Salauddin Lavlu, president of the guild, said the situation of cornavirus has taken a more dire shape at present. As a result, even if the inter-organizations decide to suspend all shooting activities at this time, it is not possible to stick to that decision at the moment because the government has temporarily relaxed the lockdown.

As a result, a number of talented artistes expressed their intention to produce dramas and requested the concerned organizations.

In view of this, the concerned shooting units have decided to start shooting from May 17 on its own responsibility in accordance with the rules of the government and inter-organizations.

According to the guild, if anyone wants to take part in shooting, they have to fulfil six conditions. These include:

1. Some restrictions have been imposed by the inter-organization to stay free from health risks following the guidelines of the Department of Health for coronavirus. Shooting hygiene information should be collected from their respective organizations and shooting should be done according to that rule.

2. During the lockdown, the necessary permission must be collected from the government agency prior to shooting.

Artistes and crews will carry out any work related to shooting at their own risk. Inter-organizations or own organizations will not be involved in any way.

3. Inter-organization or own organization will not take any responsibility if an unwanted situation arises while shooting, or if someone falls ill. The entire responsibility will be on the concerned producers, directors, actors, cinematographers, makeup artists and all the concerned units.

4. For creating awareness of the current coronavirus situation and the decision of the inter-organization, the artist, crew, producer who is interested in shooting will send a short message or email to the president / general secretary of their respective organization.

Where it is to be written, “I am well aware of the decision of the inter-organization in times of disaster and voluntarily participate in the shooting at my own risk. If I’m in a crisis, it’s my responsibility.”

5. Everyone has to abide by the announcement made by the government considering the situation, or if the situation arises to stop work, it must be stopped.

6. The inter-organization can cancel this decision at any time considering the situation.

In a joint statement of the president and general secretaries of the inter-organization said, “We feel the need for everyone to work. Besides, we also think that life is above everything. Everything is trivial in front of life.

And so at present time where we are in a state of confinement, it may not be desirable to travel to more crowded places. That is why we are currently discouraging the practice of gathering of more than one person. Stay safe. Stay home. Avoid public gatherings.”

Incidentally, as part of the coronavirus resistance, all shooting in the country has been stopped since last March. However, actor Shahiduzzaman Selim, Zahid Hasan, director Adi Bashi Mizan and many others were criticized for shooting secretly recently.

Meanwhile, most of the artistes and performers have expressed their frustration on social media over the decision of the inter-organization on Friday.
