The concluding parade of the six month-long basic training for the 24th batch of upazila trainees and the newly recruited Ansar Battalion was held on Thursday at Ansar VDP Academy in Shafipur of Gazipur.
Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) Director General AKM Aminul Haque received salute as chief guest.
At that time, Additional Director General Brigadier General Mohammad Nazim Uddin, Ansar and VDP Academy Acting Commandant Mohammad Nurul Hasan Faridi, Deputy Director Generals and other senior officials and employees of the force were present as special guests.
The parade starts at Yad Ali Parade Ground at 9 am. The chief guest arrived through the western edge of the field in the security cordon of the cavalry team. He visited each contingent in a well-decorated open green jeep draped in a red carpet.
Later, the contingents marched in 6 rows under the leadership of Deputy Commander Faruque Ahmed to greet the Chief Guest.
The trainees raised their hands towards their respective scriptures and took an oath to dedicate their lives in the service of the country and its people, adhering to the constitution.
The chief guest handed over prizes to the best trainees among them.
Out of 75 male trainees and 219 female trainees, Mst Kashmiri Akhtar won the award for excellence in drill, Eti Akhter won the award for her excellence in firing.
Md. Ruhul Amin won the award for excellence in drill among the total of 788 young Ansar Battalion Sepoy trainees, Md. Naeem won the best firing award and became the cleverest trainee.
