Concert for Bangladesh’s co-producer Phil Spector dies

During the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971, Phil Spector, who revolutionised 1960s pop music with his ‘Wall of Sound’ production technique mostly known as a the co-producer of 'Concert for Bangladesh' held in New York, USA, is no more. He died at a California hospital on Sunday, local time at age 81.

Spector has been undergoing treatment at the hospital since Corona tested positive. But he did not recover and did not go back to the country, according to a statement from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. In 1973 he won a Grammy Award for co-producing the album 'Concert for Bangladesh'. 

He also produced numerous hit songs in the sixties of the last century. He was also named one of Rolling Stone Magazine's history-best artists. Phil was charged in 2003 with the murder of Lana Jean Clarkson, a Hollywood actress. He was convicted and sentenced to 19 years in prison in 2009.
