Renowned musician and composer Azad Rahman has made an eternal journey across the river of life and death towards the land of no return. He died at Shyamoli Specialized Hospital Saturday evening around 4:45pm after he suffered a heart attack.
He had suffering from old age disease for a long time. Prior to this he underwent an operation near the end of March this year. At the time of his death he was 76 years old.
Razzak's first film, ‘Ananta Prem’ used the song ‘O Chokhe Chokh Poreche Jokhoni’ written by Gazi Mazharul Anwar and composed by Azad Rahman in the voices of Khurshid Alam and Sabina Yasmin gained much popularity.
National Film Award winning music director Azad Rahman was born on 1 January 1944 in Burdwan district of West Bengal. He graduated from Rabindra Bharati University in Kolkata. He started his career in film music by directing the music of the popular Bengali film ‘Ms Priyangbada’.
