Dhallywood renowned actress Jaya Ahsan was going to make her debut in B-Town by starring opposite eminent actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Sayantan Mukherjee's upcoming web series. The series is based on the novel titled “Shada Ami Kalo Ami” written by Runu Guha Niyogi, a controversial police officer of the 1967 Naxalbari movement, which was led by the Indian revolutionary leader, Charu Majumdar.

The central character of the web series will be played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Naxal Leader Charu Majumdar and Jaya Ahsan as his wife, Lila Majumder.

However, Charu Majumder's son Abhijit Mazumdar, ML, Communist Party of India (CPI), Darjeeling, West Bengal has alleged that history is being distorted of Naxalbari movement in the web series. Because, one of the two main characters in the web series is about Charu Majumdar and the other is about Runu Guha Niyogi who wrote the novel titled “Shada Ami Kalo Ami”.  In fact, the web series is being made based on the novel only. For many years, there were arguments and debates on the Naxalbari movement.

Regarding the whole matter Abhijit Mazumdar has posted in his social media account on Wednesday, He writes about how the book portrays Runu Guha the controversial police officer had described his 'bravery' in it, how he arrested Charu Mazumdar and left him to die, after stopping all his medicines. There are over hundreds of books written that are based on the Naxalite movement, the director Sayantan Mukherjee has chosen the one that contains a wrongful interpretation of the movement and making a web series over it without even consulting with me regarding this matter.

On the other hand, one of the popular actresses of Dhallywood Jaya Ahsan has assigned to play the character of my mother but the book does not contain Lila Mazumdar’s character at all, so the director has fictionalise the character, instead of doing proper research on her, he further added.

The director had said that the whole series will be shown through the eyes of the controversial police officer.  Sayantan Mukherjee plans to initiate a three episode web series to showcase the story of the revolt. The first episode will highlight the story from 1947 to 1972, while the second one will be based on 1972 to 1990. The last episode will be based on 1990 to 2010.
