An attempt was taken to rape a six-year old girl by a man at Khilmarket area under Fatulla police station on 23 October 2019.Victim’s mother filed a case (no 68) with Fatulla model police station accusing Helal Mahmud, son of Ali Ahmed, resident of Khilmarket area of the thana.
In this connection, the victim’s mother told the Bangladesh Post that some locals including Sanaullah called her in a club at Khilmerket area on the night of January 01 and repeatedly threatened her to compromise the case. However, she denied the proposal for compromise, but demanded trial.
On January 02 , when the complainant reached courtroom all the locals cordoned her and before sitting court, they forcibly collected signature on compromise petition and the accused got bail, said the complainant. The complainant is still under pressure by the local leader Sanaullah and by the investigative officer not to proceed with the case.
