Compensation for Amphan-hit people demanded

Krishak Sangram Samity leaders had demanded compensation to the Amphan affected, jobless and poor people when they were passing hard days following the global havoc corona virus for last couple of months. The demand was raised at a discussion marking the 12th death anniversary of ex central committee president of the association Master Iman Ali.

The party leaders gathered at the grave of Master Iman Ali at Mallikpur village in Kaliganj upazila of Jhenidah on Tuesday morning.

The leaders criticizing the decision of the government on massive movement of the people for reshuffling economy, said it will invite the havoc once again. They had demanded reduce the price of diesel for the interest of the farmers throughout the country as the fuel is massively consumed in irrigation pumps and other agriculture purposes everyday.

Presided over by association’s central vice president Sakhawat Hossain, the party activists maintaining social distances placed floral wreaths at the grave, observed one-minute silence and read out oath speech. Incumbent central committee president Hafizur Rahman, organizing secretary Oliar Rahman and Trade union Sangaha Jhenidah district unit general secretary Manabendra Das Mintu among others spoke. 

The speakers demanded rehabilitation of the poor and jobless people and ensure compensation for them until and unless new crops are harvested. Adequate agriculture inputs were demanded for the farmers badly affected following the recent Amphan.

Criticizing the non-reduction of fuel prices in Bangladesh, the leaders said when the fuel price fell down at the lowest globally, the government in the country yet to take decision in the matter. They had demanded more effective measures from the government side to save the country men from the slap of deadly corona virus at any cost.
