Commemorative stamp exhibition held in Ctg

A day-long ‘Commemorative Stamp Exhibition and Marketing-2025’ was held on the Chattogram GPO premises under the direction of Bangladesh Postal Department on Tuesday morning.

The programme  was inaugurated and a commemorative envelope was unveiled by the Chattogram Collectors Club.

Chattogram (Eastern Circle) Additional Postmaster General Dr. Mohammad Nizam Uddin was present as the chief guest in the programme.

Chattogram GPO Senior Postmaster Mohammad Muhammad Abdullah presided over the programme , while Chattogram Postal Life Insurance Regional Office Regional Manager Mohammad Tayab Ali and Deputy Postmaster General Sharif Md. Saifullah were present as special guests. Chattogram Collectors Club President Prabal Dey delivered the welcome speech.

The exhibition featured various items ranging from the runner's spear of the British postal department, hurricane, leather cash bag. Various memories and traditions of the postal department in the collection of the Postal Museum were showcased yesterday in a wonderful exhibition. It featured old postage stamps, knives, scissors, iron nicks, batkhara, ticket canceling machines, 3 single-barreled guns used in the treasury, post boxes and letter boxes, watches, signboards from the British era and various equipment. The visitors were taken back to that time by displaying various equipment related to the postal department, including memorials of postal employees who died in the Great Liberation War, memoirs of the independence and liberation wars, as well as the postal department's aerograms, commemorative envelopes, inaugural souvenirs, postcards, various forms, etc. 

All the rare collections of the Postal Museum were arranged in a line in the exhibition held on the ground floor of the Chattogram GPO.  On the occasion of the exhibition, the Chattogram Collectors Club unveiled a commemorative envelope.

The exhibition showcased various items from the collection of the Chattogram Postal Department's Philatelic and Postal Museum and the Chattogram Collectors Club. This exhibition, which was open to all, was visited by citizens from all walks of life, including teachers and students from various schools, colleges, and universities of the country, and collected commemorative postage stamps and envelopes. Many of the students participated in the exhibition and collected tickets and thanked the Postal Department for the beautiful arrangements.

It is known that a 30-member organising committee was announced earlier to organise the exhibition. Certificates were given to the members of the Chattogram Collectors Club at the event.
