Ahead to kick off the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), the most coveted franchise cricket tournament received a big threat from Comilla Victorians when they expressed their unwillingness to play the lone T20 franchise of the country.

The most successful team of the BPL, Comilla Victorians are very much frustrated with the revenue sharing model, as their participation in the BPL has become uncertain in future. The high ups of the Victorians, four times, the highest number of title winners of the tournament hinted that they may not continue their participation in the BPL from next season, as they are disappointed with the system of revenue sharing among the participants. Victorians, who won the BPL trophy first time in 2015, regained it after three years in 2018 but they had to wait for another four years to become champions in 2022 and also celebrated the championship in the next year 2023.

This year they have been looking forward to lifting the hat-trick title, and formed a star-studded team with roping some renowned T20 specialists from home and abroad.

But the Victorians realizing that the way BCB run the franchise tournament and their financial method of sharing the revenue is not satisfactory or good enough.

The Victorians owners specified that the practice to run the BPL is not right ways of franchises, as the other franchise leagues around the world are afforded. Therefore, they think that it becomes uncertain for them and may not be possible for them to play the next BPL.
