The Comilla University (CoU) will celebrate 'University Day' on Saturday. The foundation stone of the university was laid down on this day 16 years ago.
Marking the day, a colorful procession will be brought out at the campus around 10:00am. Later, a short discussion ceremony will be held at the at Muktamancha. The university vice-chancellor Professor Dr A F M Abdul Moyeen will inaugurate the functions of the day as chief guest.
Moreover, a cultural function, organized by students, will also be held at the Muktamancha while different organisations will perform there.
The university was built on 50 acres of land, now 144.19 acres, has 19 departments and four dormitories. At present, 266 teachers, 96 officials and 207 staff are serving at CoU for around 7,000 students.
