A teacher of Jamia Sharaftia Islamia Fazil Madrasa at Muchapur union in Companiganj upazila of Noakhali district was beaten up by a gang of hoodlums for protesting the stalking of a sixth-grade female student of the institution. The organised goons broke both the hands of the teacher named Md Hasan. The ill-fated teacher is now undergoing treatment at Japan Bangladesh Hospital in the district town.
This is not only a single story of teacher Hasan but many teachers, guardians, fathers and brothers were either beaten up of or murdered when they protested the stalking while a large number of girls ended up their lives by committing suicide after violation, humiliation and sexual harassment.
There is a law to control such violence and eve teasing, but it has not been controlled as police, it is alleged, do not strict and proper take action against eve-teasers, local hoodlums and terrors.
We have noticed with great concern that many of our female students could not go to their schools, colleges and universities due to the increasing trend in juvenile gang (Kishor Gang) culture across the country.

We continued to witness many people met tragic death at the hands of the criminals when they protested stalking of girls or women. We witnessed that fathers were killed as they protested stalking of their daughters while brothers were brutally murdered for sisters.
We demand action against those responsible for the failure to provide security to the teachers and students. Urging the deputy commissioners to take appropriate legal measures to stop violence, eve-teasing, stalking, repression and discriminatory behaviour on girls, the prime minister repeatedly instructed them to conduct mobile courts immediately to this end.
But the prime minister’s strict warnings seem to have had no effect on the incidence of girls’ sexual harassment and humiliation. Now, our girls are studying at school, college and university while women are playing a strong role in making decisions in their family.
But they are still being harassed and humiliated by the members of young gangsters under the very nose of the local public representatives and law enforcement agencies across the country almost every day. A nationwide crackdown on juvenile gang members will have to be launched immediately for ensuring girls’ safe movement, maintaining peace, discipline and stability through eliminating eve-teasing and harassment.
