As part of a four-day programme to mark the founding anniversary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), a colourful rally and gathering were organised in Gabtali municipality of Bogura, the birthplace of BNP founder and late President Ziaur Rahman.
On the third day of the celebrations, the municipal BNP arranged a vibrant procession, cake-cutting ceremony, and rally on Wednesday morning. The rally, which began at 11:30am, marched through the municipal area and concluded at the Shaheed Minar premises where a public meeting was held.
The event was presided over by municipal BNP President Kayduzzohar Tipu. Among the speakers were district BNP Human Rights Affairs Secretary and former Gabtali municipal mayor Saiful Islam, municipal BNP General Secretary Abdur Rahim Pintu, BNP leaders Abul Hossain Molla, Dr Sabed Ali, Chairman Abdul Wahab, Rabbani Abdul Halim Tutul, Senior Vice-President Ataur Rahman, Matiar Rahman Mati, Afsar Ali Mizu, Abu Hasanath Sain, Shahidul Islam, Tarikul Islam, Tajul Islam, Mostafa Kamal Konak, Nasir Uddin Bulbul, and Hamidur Rahman Shilu, along with other leaders at various levels.
After the speeches, a cake was cut to celebrate the occasion. Special prayers were offered for the late President Ziaur Rahman, Arafat Rahman Koko, and other departed leaders, as well as for the good health and longevity of Begum Khaleda Zia, Tarique Rahman, and the well-being of the Zia family.
