College student killed in Chuadanga road accident

A college going student was killed in Damuhida upazila of Chuadanga district on Sunday after being crushed under a truck.

The deceased was identified as Rakib, son of Milon, resident of Gobindhahuda village in Damurhuda upazila. He was a 11th grade student in Damurhuda Abdul Wadud Shah Degree College.

The incident occurred in front of a market adjacent to Damuhuda bus stand at around 9:00am on Sunday.

The eyewitness said Rakib along with his two friends were going to attend exam on a motorcycle. Before reaching the college, the motorcycle collided with a battery-run van in front of a market adjacent to Damuhuda bus stand and fell on the road. A truck coming from behind at high speed crushed Rakib, leaving him dead on the spot. The two other riders were seriously injured at that time. 

The locals rescued the injured and took them to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital.

On information, police visited the spot and detained the truck, taking it to Damurhuda model police station.

Officer-in-Charge of Damuhuda model police station, Humayan kabir, confirmed the matter, saying, Rakib was sent to Damuhuda Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
