A seven-year minor girl was allegedly violated by a neighboring college student on Monday morning. The incident took place at Padamdi village in Tribeni union of Shailkupa. Police said that it was an attempt to rape.
The accused was identified as Ashique Hossain, son of Alamgir Hossain of the village, He was studying in a local college. Ashique had fled away and the girl was sent to Jhenaidh Sadar Hospital, said the family sources.
Locals and family sources said that the girl went to bring back a sachet of fish what they had preserved in the refrigerator of Alamgir Hossain. Ashique taking the situation of loneliness of the girl, had taken her in to his room and violated there.
The girl told her mother about the incident. She was rushed to Shailkupa upazila health complex for treatment. The attending physicians sent her to Jhenidah Sadar hospital for medical examination.
Shailkupa police station officer in charge Jahangir Hossain said Ashique had tried to violate the minor girl. They had nabbed the criminal immediate after the information.
