Cold wave gripples Jibannagar

The normal life of the people has been disrupted due to the bone-chilling cold wave in Jibannagar of Chuadanga district. Especially, the suffering of the uprooted and helpless people is extreme. Ignoring the severe winter, the people who go out in search of work are in misery. Cold-stricken people are trying to prevent winter by burning straw. 

According to the Chuadanga Meteorological Office, a temperature of 7.4 degrees Celsius was recorded in Jibannagar of Chuadanga at 8 am on Monday. This is the lowest temperature of the upazila in this season. In severe winters, no one goes out of the house without the necessary work. As a result, the people who eat day in and day out have the most problems. On Monday morning, low-income people were seen lighting fires at various corners of the area and in tea -hops in an attempt to ward off the cold.

Abul Kalam Azad, a hotelier, said there was pressure on the hotel for breakfast in the morning. That is why the work pressure increases after dawn. When people in the area put hands in the water, it seems that icy-cold water cause Hypothermia like affects.

Samadul Haque, officer-in-charge of the Chuadanga Meteorological Office, said the district recorded a low of 7.4 degrees Celsius at 8am on Monday. This is the lowest temperature of the season in the district. The cold wave has started from Monday. He also said that the temperature may drop further.
