The Bengali month of Magh is being ended with rain and severe cold. According to meteorologist forecasts, the country may experience rain all over the country on Thursday till Friday morning.
At the same time, the temperature may decrease again and a strong cold spell is feared from today (Friday).
Meanwhile, the lowest temperature (10.2 degrees Celsius) was recorded in Syedpur on Thursday. The minimum temperature in Dhaka has risen by 3 degrees Celsius. It has increased to 16.8 from 13.8.
In the 24 hours from 8am Wednesday to 8am Thursday, 1 mm of rain fell in Chuadanga, 1 mm in Kushtia, 1 mm in Rajshahi and 1 mm in Pabna, as per the meteorological department.
Meteorologist Abul Kalam told Bangladesh Post it may rain all over the country on Thursday, but it is likely to be more in Rajshahi, Khulna, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet.
He said, “The sky in Dhaka could be cloudy all day and there was a possibility of rain at any time of the day. The weather may improve over the night time.”
The meteorologist said that day and night temperatures will increase in the next 24 hours from 9am on Thursday.
The meteorological forecasts suggests that due to the cold and heavy winds blowing from north-west to south-east, the night rains initially began in Rajshahi and Chapainawabganj districts, however, significant amount of rain clouds is moving a little to the south and entering Bangladesh through Kushtia district.
According to the Bangladesh meteorological department, the night temperature in the northwestern part of the country may drop by 1-2 degrees Celsius in the next 24 hours and it may decrease slightly elsewhere in the country. Daytime temperatures across the country can drop by 2-3 degrees Celsius.
