Shivering cold wave continues in Chuadanga for 5 days. The entire district is covered in thick fog. Even during noon, it is not possible to see the sun. The sun has not been seen for the past 3 days in the district. In this situation, the vehicles are moving with headlights on to avoid accidents. Many people are suffering from diarrhea and pneumonia due to cold.

The district is experiencing extreme cold as Chuadanga has recorded the lowest temperature for almost a week. The minimum temperature recorded in the district was 13.3 degrees Celsius at 9 am on Tuesday. Air humidity is 99 percent. Visibility is 500 meters.

The temperature has been continuously decreasing in the district for the last 10 days. The sun is not visible due to foggy weather from morning to afternoon. Even though it is less cold during the day, as the night progresses, the temperature drops and the bone-chilling cold is felt. As a result, suffering is increasing in public life and people are suffering from winter-related diarrhea, pneumonia, cold-fever, cough.

In the last three days, about 350 patients have been treated for cold-related diseases at Chuadanga Sadar Hospital. Which is 15 times more than capacity. Besides, 300 to 400 patients are being treated daily in the outpatient department of the hospital.

Chuadanga Sadar Hospital Senior Consultant Dr Asadur Rahman Malik said that the number of child patients is increasing due to the increasing severity of winter. Diarrhea and pneumonia due to winter are among the patients. Babies should be breastfed. In addition, they need to wear warm clothes and keep them clean. Everyone should be aware in winter.

Chuadanga Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Aminul Islam Khan said that 20,100 blankets from the Prime Minister's relief fund have been distributed among the people. Another 30,000 blankets have been requisitioned. They will be distributed as soon as they are available.

Besides, letters have been sent for the distribution of winter clothes at the private level. I hope to get a response from there as well.

According to the Chuadanga Meteorological Department, the temperature has started to decrease gradually in Chuadanga since a few days ago. Extreme cold is felt due to cold current. This weather will continue for a few more days.
