Coast Guard seizes smuggled clothes, fifteen held

A team of Bangladesh Coast Guard(BCG) South Zone seized smuggled Indian clothes worth about Tk 10 crore in a drive at Char Kukrimukri area under Charfasson upazila in Bhola on Sunday, says a press release issued by BCG.

Sensing the presence of BCG, smugglers tried to flee the scene but members of Coast Guard seized the trawler and detain 11 Bangladeshi crews and 4 Indian crews. 

After searching the trawler 25,000 pieces of foreign saris, three-piece and lehenga were seized.

The detainees are  Ramesh Das,50, Poran Das,25, Suvash Mandol,55, Lakhan Mayati,40, Uttam Kumar Das,35, Rabin Kumar Das,30, Kalachand Singh,35, Mrinal Chandra Das,50, Md Mizan,40, Md Jasim Uddin,22, Mahmudul Hasan,25, Sanjeet Malo,50, Md Hanif,32, Md Abu Bakar,22, Sobhan Mridha,30. 

Detainee 15 crews and seized goods were handed over to South Aicha Police Station of Bhola for taking further legal action.
