Bangladesh Coast Guard Contingent Nesarabad and Fisheries Officer of Nesharabad conducted a joint operation at Notun Road, Niarhat, Nesharabad Bazaar in Pirojpur on Thursday.
During the drive 21 lakh meter current net, found in a godown was seized. The estimated value of the seized net is about Tk. 7 crore 35 lakhs. No arrests were made at the time. The seized current nets were burnt in the presence of the Fisheries Officer.
Such operations in all areas covered by the Bangladesh Coast Guard will continue in future as well.
