Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) is providing emergency rescue, relief and medical assistance to the affected areas of the sub-continent to deal with the next situation of Cyclone Bulbul, says a press release issued by BCG on Sunday.
Earlier, control rooms were set up in different zones, including the deployment of additional Coast Guard members at each station and outpost, including small vessels of Bangladesh Coast Guard during the cyclone Bulbul.
In the Mongla region, ships were kept ready to go to rescue and distribute relief goods in the coastal areas to face emergency situation.
About 14,346 people were transferred from the isolated areas of the south and southwest region.
During the cyclone, BCG members rescued a trawler with fourteen fishermen on board at Thengarcahr area of Hatia.
On the other hand, ten people were rescued alive from a drowning trawler at Charfasson area in Bhola.
Emergency rescue, relief operations and medical services are being provided in two vessels at Kaira and Gabura areas of Satkhira, four ships at Dobala Char in Sundarbans.
In addition, the Coast Guard is providing safe shelter and necessary assistance to tourists trapped in St. Martin due to the cyclone Bulbul.
