On the basis of secret information, a special operation was conducted by BCG station Patharghata under Bangladesh Coast Guard South Zone in Barguna on Wednesday night.
During the operation, two robbers were arrested from the notorious Ripon gang's hideout in Haringhata area under Patharghata police station in Barguna with four single-barreled domestic guns, 7 fresh ammunition and 2 sharp blades called Ramdaa.
The arrestees were identified as Md. Raju, 25, son of Md. Abdul Mannan and Md. Riaz, 23, son of Md. Mohsin, both residents of Patharghata.
The arrested robbers and confiscated weapons were handed over to Patharghata police station for legal action.
Regular operations have been and will continue to be carried out in the areas under the control of the BCG to maintain law and order.
