The gas refueling activities of CNG stations will remain open for 24 hours for the greater benefit of the general public which will be effective from tomorrow (Aug 1) and continue until further notice, energy and mineral resources division officials said in a statement on Tuesday. At present, CNG refueling stations cannot sell compressed natural gas (CNG) between 5:00pm and 9:00pm every day in order to ration gas supply in different industries. The decision comes following the import of 1000mmcfd LNG which are now being supplied to various industries to satisfy their needs.

On July 22, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said the gas stations will remain open for 24 hours for 10 days during the Eid festival, expected to be on August 12.“The movement of heavy vehicles will remain suspended for three days before and after the Eid. But vehicles carrying perishable goods, garments and medicines will operate as usual.”
