CMP traffic department distribute masks in city

Traffic Division of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) distributed free masks at 8 points in the city as part of their awareness campaign against the spread of Covid-19 

CMP Commissioner Saleh Mohammad Tanvir inaugurated the programme wearing a mask himself and distributing masks among pedestrians as the chief guest at the GEC intersection in the city on Saturday morning.

CMP Commissioner Saleh Mohammad Tanvir said the government was continuing to provide vaccinations to protect the nation from corona.  In the belief of building a corona-free Bangladesh, the police have taken up the program of distributing masks to make people of all walks of life aware of the need to observe full hygiene with wearing masks.  

The traffic department will be distributing masks and protective materials among people of different classes and professions including pedestrians at 8 important points of the city every day.  “If we are all aware, we will win the Corona War”, he added.

He said that after the government restrictions, public transport has been instructed to operate in accordance with the health rules from August 11.  Necessary steps will be taken if public transport operates in violation of government instructions.  He advised not to leave the house without urgent need.

CMP Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Shyamal Kumar Nath, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic-South) NM Nasiruddin, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic-West) Tarek Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic-North) Md. Ali Hossain, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Md. Mokhlesur Rahman, Tareq Ahmed and others were present on the occasion.
