Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) has announced that legal action is being taken against the landlords who do not want to rent their houses to hospital doctors or apply pressure on the doctors to leave their homes.

CMP said this in a press release sent from the CMP Public Relations Branch on Thursday afternoon. According to the press release physicians or health workers can report their complaints to CMP by calling CMP's hotline numbers.

Recently, some owners have been accused of forcing doctors and health workers to leave their homes in Chattogram metropolitan area.  Following the incident CMP made this decision.

CMP Additional Deputy Commissioner (Public Relations) Abu Bakar Siddique said allegations have been made that some landlords are pressuring doctors health workers to leave their homes.  Doctors and health workers are working to serve patients risking their lives amid corona spread.  Such behaviour is not desirable at this time of crisis.

He said that CMP Commissioner has announced to be on the side of doctors and health workers.  If a landlord now behaves badly with doctors and health workers or asks to leave their homes, legal action will be taken against them.
