Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) has put in place strict surveillance and security measures around the Chattogram on the occasion of Eid al-Adha to prevent the violence of criminals in animal markets, residential and commercial areas
It has been informed by the CMP that various steps have been taken including increased vigilance in plain clothes and virtual surveillance to prevent the criminals of the Eid season. In addition to the regular mobile team of police station, each Qurbani cattle haat has regular security, temporary police camp, temporary police control room, fake note detection booth, plainclothes police force, watch tower, medical camp, money escort and its own volunteer system.
Special arrangements have also been made for animal markets. Provisions to ensure that animal trucks cannot be forcibly taken from any market, that no one can set up animal markets at any place other than an approved market, that no one can trade in illegal poles, that empty animal trucks do not carry passengers while returning, etc. being accepted.
Separate arrangements have been made for each Eid congregation to ensure maximum safety of the city dwellers. Meanwhile, extra precautionary measures have been taken for the security of residential areas during the Eid holidays.
Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Media and Public Relations Department Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Spina Rani Pramanik said that all-out preparations have been made for the safety of the city dwellers. Special vigilance has been kept at animal markets, Eid congregations and before and after Eid and during Eid holidays.
Meanwhile, the CMP said that the skin of the sacrificial animal will be taken in connection with buying and selling and transportation. The responsible officials of CMP will take appropriate action based on the intelligence gathered to prevent leather smuggling, keep a watchful eye on the area so that no syndicate can create obstacles in the sale and purchase of sacrificial skin, and ensure that no one can extort money in the purchase and sale of skin and transportation.
