The centennial heritage building of the city's Dampara police office has been converted into Covid-19 Hospital that was inaugurated by CMP Commissioner Md Mahabubur Rahman on Tuesday afternoon.
The centennial building was established in 1915. The traditional two-storey ‘Heritage Building’ was renovated, beautified, modernized and renamed. This is a special initiative to protect the health of police members dealing with Covid-19.
There will be 6 specialist doctors under one senior doctor in charge of round-the-clock treatment of patients. ECG, X-ray, SCU have been arranged for the treatment of police members. There are also separate wards for the treatment of women and children.
At the inaugural ceremony, Additional Commissioner Amena Begum, Additional Commissioner SM Mostaq Ahmed Khan, Additional Commissioner Shyamal Kumar Nath and other senior police officials were present.
