CMP, KSRM distribute relief among hawker families

Chittogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) with the help of Kabir Steel Re-Rolling Mills (KSRM) authorities distributed reliefs for a total of 350 hawker families in the port city on Saturday.

CMP South Division Deputy Police Commissioner Mehdi Hasan Haque handed over the sacks of reliefs to the leaders of Newspaper Hawkers Association at the city’s Shoronika Community Center.

Funded by the KSRM, a sack of reliefs contained ingredients including rice 7 kg, potato 2 kg, onion 1 kg, pulse 1 kg, oil 1 liter, salt half kg, garlic half kg.  Praising the KSRM’s move, Mehedi said it would  ensure practicing social distance in the area.

KSRM Media Advisor said, "It’s a part of our corporate social responsibility. Since the virus broke out, the KSRM has stood by people from all works of life. The initiative will continue in the future.”

CMP South Division Additional Police Commissioner Abdur Rauf, Chittagong Press Club General Secretary Chowdhury Farid, Media Advisor of KSRM Mizanul Islam, Chittagong Newspaper Hawkers Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited President Yusuf Ali, and General Secretary Nazrul Islam Liton were present on the occasion.
