Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) traffic response department has issued 5 instructions to restore order to temporary bus counters in Chandgaon police station area of Chattogram city.
These decisions were taken in a discussion meeting with various transport management officials of the area on Wednesday.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Zainul Abedin in the conference room of North Traffic Division of CMP.
Regarding the 5 directives adopted in the meeting, the transport management officials assured the cooperation of the traffic department.
If the guidelines are not obeyed, the traffic department said that the concerned transporters will be brought under the law according to the Road Transport Act 2018.
At this time, Additional Deputy Commissioner of North Traffic Division of CMP Kirtiman Chakma, Assistant Commissioner Asif Mahmud Ghalib, Traffic Inspector (Administration) Mohammad Kamal Hossain and representatives of various transport agencies were present.
The 5 directives adopted in the meeting are:
All types of buses and minibuses should be stationed at Bahaddarhat Bus Terminal, the buses should leave the terminal for the respective counters 5 minutes before departure and the buses should finish their operations within 4 minutes from the same queue to pick up passengers at the temporary bus counters in front of Chandgaon police station, at which counters to park their own vehicles. There are arrangements that they should not pick up passengers standing on the main road under any circumstances, stop picking up and dropping off passengers except at specific stops and no driver should drive without a driving license.
