The port division of the Chittagong Metropolitan Police has taken initiative to distribute food items among the unemployed poor families affected by the corona virus. Chittagong Metropolitan Police Commissioner Saleh Mohammad Tanvir inaugurated the event on Thursday afternoon.
Under this program, food items will be distributed among about 5,000 poor families living in 23 bit areas of CMP's port division with the help of Pacific Jeans-KSRM. Each family will be given 10 kg of rice, 1 kg of pulses, 1 kg of gram, 1 kg of onion, 2 kg of potatoes, 1 kg of salt, 1 liter of edible oil, 1 soap and a total of 18 kg of food items and daily necessities. Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime and Operations) Mohammad ShamsulAlam, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Shyamal Kumar Nath, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Ports) SM Mehedi Hasan, KSRM-Pacific jeans senior officer and other senior police officials were present on the occasion.
