Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Commissioner Hasan Md. Shawkat Ali said that, “Pahela Baishakh is a universal festival for Bengalis. CMP has taken the highest level of preparation to ensure that city residents can celebrate the occasion safely and without disruption.”
To ensure overall law and order during the upcoming Pahela Baishakh 1433 celebrations, CMP organized a security coordination meeting on Tuesday morning at its headquarters conference room, chaired by the Commissioner.
According to CMP, the meeting discussed in detail various measures including strengthening security arrangements across the city, traffic management, ensuring emergency services, increasing coordinated patrols, crowd control, and enhancing surveillance at key locations. Necessary directives were also provided to ensure a safe and well-organized celebration through coordination among all concerned agencies.
The CMP Commissioner emphasized effective coordination among all relevant agencies and called upon citizens to remain aware and cooperative.
The meeting was attended by Additional Police Commissioner (Traffic) Wahidul Haque Chowdhury, Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Operations) Muhammad Faisal Ahmed, Deputy Police Commissioner (Sadar) Md. Ferdous Ali Chowdhury, Deputy Police Commissioner (South) Hossain Mohammad Kabir Bhuiyan, Deputy Police Commissioner (DB-North) Md. Habibur Rahman, Deputy Police Commissioner (DB-South) Sheikh Shariful Islam, Deputy Police Commissioner (Traffic-North) Nesar Uddin Ahmed, along with other senior CMP officials and representatives from various stakeholder groups.
CMP sources said that special security measures will be taken at important locations across the city, and maximum vigilance will be maintained to ensure law and order during the celebrations.
