The 44th founding anniversary of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) was celebrated on Monday in a grand manner with the determination to build public relations CMP to fight terrorism and militancy to build Sonar Bangla, the dream of the father of the nation. Bangladesh Police Inspector General Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun was present as the chief guest on the occasion. Earlier, he inaugurated the newly constructed Central Armoury, Kalurghat Police Outpost and Police Barracks at Monchurabad Police Lines. After the inauguration, he visited the Police Liberation War Museum. CMP Commissioner Krishna Pada Roy presided over the event.
The chief guest at the beginning of his speech paid deep respect to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. At the same time he remembered the contribution of all the brave freedom fighters who participated in the great liberation war of 71. He also respectfully remembered the contribution of 30 lakh martyrs and 2 lakh oppressed mothers and sisters who were martyred in the great liberation war. Later Hon'ble IGP remembered all the martyrs of the father of the nation including his family on 15th August 75 with deep respect. He also highlighted the contribution of the martyred policemen in the Great Liberation War of 1971. He said that Chattogram is the cradle of anti-British movement. At the call of the Father of the Nation, along with the people of Chattogram, the police also joined the liberation war.
He said, CMP has always been conducting innovative and people-oriented policing activities. He spoke about the sacrifice of CMP policemen during the Corona period.
He also highlighted the various steps taken by Bangladesh Police in mass-oriented policing activities. Finally, he highlighted the various issues taken by the police to deal with the changed situation. After the event, he visited various stalls.
