The China Media Group (CMG) and its President and Editor-in-Chief Shen Haixiong have achieved the Krivosheiw trophy from the International Olympic Committee for the media institution’s contribution to the Olympic Movement.

In a letter sent to the CMG chief on Saturday, International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach announced the award.

He appreciated CMG's long-time commitment to the Olympic Movement and its continuous efforts in promoting the Olympic Spirit in China through the broadcast of the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022.

“The phenomenal audience numbers that we have seen have demonstrated the large growth of interest in Olympic Winter sports among the Chinese people and I would like to congratulate you once again for this exceptional achievement,” he wrote.

Thomas Bach said the IOC looks forward to future collaboration with China Media Group both to broaden the reach of the Olympic Movement as well as to develop deeper roots for sports participation in the Chinese population.

He also wished the CMG president a happy and prosperous Year of the Tiger.
