Chattogram Medical College (CMC) Nasirabad hostel has been closed indefinitely by the university administration.
A first-year hostel of Chattogram Medical College (CMC) has been declared closed indefinitely due to tension between two factions of the Chhatra League over the election of a mess manager.
On Thursday evening, the 'Hafizullah Bashir and Lutfus Salam' hostel located on Road No. 2 of Nasirabad Housing Society was declared closed.
According to CMC sources, Nashir Uddin's followers managed the food mess of the hostel for a long time. For a few days, the followers of Nawfel raised various complaints about the mess food and demanded a change of management.
As a result of this, an argument started between the two parties last Wednesday night. At one stage, furniture and rooms were vandalized. Due to the same incident, the two sides got into an argument again on Thursday afternoon.
At that time there was a fight and some rooms were vandalized.
Chattogram Medical College (CMC) Principal Professor Dr. Sahena Akhter said, "After leaving the meeting, they got into a fight again. Two days there was a fight between the students. So the hostel was temporarily closed due to fear of any new accident. However, other hostels are open. The hostel closure notice said that due to indiscipline and unruly situation, all the students of 64th MBBS and 33rd BDS were ordered to leave the hostel by 7 pm on Thursday. The hostel entrances will remain closed until further notice.
If necessary action is taken by the law and order enforcement against any student for disobeying the instructions, the concerned student will be held
responsible.
