Corona test is going to start in the microbiology lab of Chittagong Medical College from next Saturday. Chittagong Medical College Vice-Chancellor Dr Nasir Uddin Mahmud said this at noon on Thursday.
He said, “The PCR machine provided by Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASE) has already been installed in the lab. Some tests were done experimentally on Thursday.
Hopefully from next Saturday we will be able to test the Corona sample.” Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University donated a PCR machine to CMC Hospital at the request of Prime Minister's Special Assistant Biplob Barua to reduce Chittagong sample clutter on May 4.
The next day the university authorities handed over the machine. Earlier, PCR machine set up by CMC was found to be faulty on May 3. Later, the machine was sent to Dhaka on the same day to repair the defect.
