CM license of 13 products cancelled

Bangladesh Standard and Testing Institution (BSTI) has cancelled Certification Marks (CM) license of 13 products including Farm fresh Ghee as the standards of those goods found substandard in BSTI lab tests. The BSTI surveillance team collected samples of those products from the open market and tested them in its lab. After lab test, they cancelled the license.

A press release, signed by BSTI Director General Mohammad Muazzem  Hossain, disclosed the matter on Wednesday. The products are—Farm Fresh Ghee of Akij Food & Beverage Limited, Shakti and Kitchen Fortified Soybean oil of Shakti Edible Private Limited, Safe Fortified Soybean oil of AK Khan Food & Beverage, Camel brand Iodised salt of Bismillah Salt Factory, Nazrul brand Iodised salt of Janata Salt Mill, Madina brand Laccha Semai of JK Food Products, Modern Skin Cream of Modern Cosmetics and Herbal Industries Ltd., GM Skin Care Cream of GM Chemical Works, Arabian special Ghee of New Chattala (Pvt.) Ltd., Reven Laccha Semai of Reven Food Company Ltd., and Mithai Laccha Semai, Ghee and Chanchur of Mithai Ltd.

BSTI asked the companies not to sell, distribute and store of these 13 products and also refrain from commercial advertising promotion until getting new licences for those products. It also suggested people not to buy these products.
