The clue of four-murder in Cox’s Bazar has not been unearthed till now. However, a case has been filed over the murder of four members of a family. Shashank Barua, a member of the victim family, filed the case against unknown persons with Ukhia Police Station on Thursday night. Nurul Islam Majumder, Officer-in-Charge (investigation) of the police station, confirmed the matter.
Throat slit bodies of four members of the family were found at the home of Kuwait expatriate Roken Barua at Purboratnap village under Ratnapalong union of Ukhia upazila in Cox’s Bazar in the early morning on Thursday. The incident of gruesome murder took place on Wednesday night. The bodies were identified as Roken Barua’s mother Sukhibala Barua, 65, his wife Mila Barua, 29, his son Robin Barua, 2, and his niece Sony Barua, 9. The funeral of bodies was completed.
Kuwaiti expatriate Roken Barua returned home in the early hours on Friday. He has been kept in the hospital for repeated loss of sense. Police said that the reason behind the killing was still not clear. A five-member team from the CID visited the spot on Thursday afternoon. The CID expert team collected evidences of the murder. They are working to uncover the mystery of the murder.
Superintendent of Police (SP) of Cox's Bazar ABM Masud Hossain said that special teams from PIB also visited the spot along with the police. Some evidences of the murder have been collected. ABM Masud Hossain said that although more than one person may have been involved in the murder. Someone who are closed to the family could be involved in the brutal murder. Police are continuing their relentless efforts to unearth the mystery of the killings, he said.
