Classical music expert Alimur Rahman Khan passes away

Alimur Rahman Khan, classical music expert and a Sufi scholar, passed away on Monday at his residence in Dhaka. 

He was 86.

He has been suffering from old-age complications, according to his family.

He has left behind his daughter, Runa Khan, the founder and executive director of Friendship, an international NGO and her sibling Barrister Ayesha Taashin Khan, and Farid Khan, his son, who currently resides in Canada.

 Throughout his life, Alimur Rahman Khan has collaborated with various organisations for the welfare of the people and society.

He was laid to rest next to his mother’s grave at the Banani Graveyard after a Namaz-e-Janaza at the Gulshan Azad Mosque.
