Government primary schools have been directed to conduct the classes from today following a new routine published by the Directorate of Primary Education.

The new routine has recently been sent to field level officials.

According to the new routine, classes of third graders will be held on Sunday and Thursday and fourth graders will be held on Saturday and Wednesday. Apart from this, first graders will attend classes on Tuesday and second graders on Monday.

However, pre-primary class classes like children, nursery and KG classes are closed for the time being.

On the other hand, classes of the fifth graders are scheduled six days a week as earlier. They will attend classes after lunch break. The classes of the rest graders will be before lunch break. The school authorities must ensure cleanliness of the classroom during lunch break.

After a long 18 months of closure, all types of educational institutions from primary to higher secondary level reopened on September 12.

At first, only this year’s and next year’s SSC and HSC candidates and fifth grade students had to attend classes six days a week while others were scheduled to come to classes once a week.

Later, classes two days a week began for the eighth and ninth graders. Later on September 21, Director General of DPE Alamgir Muhammad Mansurul Alam said the third and fourth graders are also going to come to classes twice a week.
