Claron to produce optical fibre cables in Bangladesh

Managing Director of Summit Technopolis Abu Reza Khan and Managing Director & CEO of Claron Fibreoptics Niranjan Sharma signed a land lease agreement for setting up optical fibre cable manufacturing unit in the 1.02 acre land at Summit Technopolis in Bangabandu Hi-Tech City, Kaliakoir, Gazipur. The signing took place on 24th January 2020 at Kurmitola Golf Club (KGC). Vice-Chairman of Summit Group Md Farid Khan was present at the event along with senior officials held.

Under this agreement, Summit Technopolis, a subsidiary of Summit Group will provide related infrastructural support to ClaronFibreoptics for an outlay of about USD 3 million investment.
This manufacturing facility will produce optical fibres mainly used for telecommunication and Internet Service Provider (ISP) industries. The plant is likely to commence operation from April 2020.

Claron Fibre optics, Headquarter in Mumbai, is a pioneer optical fiber cable manufacturer in India and a preferred supplier to leading telecom players like Vodafone. The company manufactures all kinds of Optical Fiber Cables for telecommunication and ISP industries.

Summit Technopolis Limited, a Public Private Partnership (PPP), is the concessionaire for developing infrastructure for hi-tech industry comprising of Information Technology (IT), Information Technology Enabled Services (ITeS), bio-tech, non-polluting manufacturing assembly lines and precision engineering companies, in the 91 acres area in Bangabandhu Hi-Tech City, Kaliakoir, Gazipur. Summit Technopolis leased under the provision to design, build, finance, own, operate and transfer to the government on completion of 60 years lease period.
