With a slogan, “Vaccine nilei joy, vaccine a nai voy (receiving vaccine is victory, no fear for taking vaccine),” Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain and 5 ministers including Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque received Covid-19 vaccine on the first day of the nationwide vaccination programme on Sunday.
Some 54 Supreme Court judges also received Covid jab yesterday. Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain received the vaccine at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital in the capital, while the other 54 judges were vaccinated at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Hospital.
The ministers were vaccinated with COVID-19 inoculations at the Sheikh Russel Gastro Liver Institute and Hospital with a call for receiving vaccines without any fear and confusion, an official release said.
Other four ministers are – Agriculture Minister Dr Abdur Razzak, Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim, Science and Technology Minister Architect Yeafesh Osman, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Shahab Uddin and State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain.
“Seven Appellate Division judges and 48 Judges from High Court Division received their vaccines today,” Supreme Court spokesperson Mohammad Saifur Rahman told media.
