Since coming to power, chief adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus-led interim government has been taking action against the government officials and employees who are engaged in corruption, irregularities, misdeeds and misuse of power. His (Dr Yunus) several meetings with the top bureaucrats have sent a reminding message that his government would not tolerate any irregularities, corruptions, misdeeds and mismanagement.
We think the top civil servants must make sure that this message reaches the grass-roots officials and take tough action against anyone who resorts to corruption. Apart from the grass-roots officials, we also believe the other government high ups must keep them away from corruption, irregularities, nepotism and mismanagement.
The interim government has started working to establish good governance and a graft-free administration in order to reach the country’s goal of building a hunger and poverty-free, developed and prosperous Bangladesh. The public servants must concentrate to combat cyber crime, money laundering, international and regional militancy and terrorist acts.
It is a big question why there should be corruption even after significant raise in the salaries, allowances and other privileges of public servants. Top civil servants and other government officials must change their mindset and engage themselves to provide a developed and better life to the country’s people.
Government high ups must keep
them away from corruption, irregularities,
nepotism and mismanagement
They will also have to work with more sincerity to develop and change the fate of the people of Bangladesh as the country is passing through hard times. We think the public servants will pay heed to chief adviser’s call and devote themselves to run the government activities in the way so the ongoing reform to build a new Bangladesh might continue in the future as well. Besides, they must implement the development projects under their respective ministries and divisions, efficiently, effectively and appropriately.
The country has now turned into Digital Bangladesh so that the use of modern technology and digital system will ensure accountability and transparency in the administration. The top bureaucrats will have to devote themselves to the development of the country and the nation by facing the current and future challenges with courage and sincerity.
Besides, they will have to keep in mind that the people seek their help when they face troubles.
The civil servants and other government officials and employees will have to earn confidence of the mass people through giving services and human behaviour instead of indulging in corruptions, irregularities and
mismanagement.
