Chuadanga food warehouse receives stone, not food

During the unloading of wheat from the transport contractor's vehicle at Sadar Upazila food warehouse in Chuadanga town, 28 sandbags and 6 large stones were found instead of wheat. 

A three-member investigation committee has been formed to submit a report in this regards. At the same time, Sadar Upazila food warehouse authorities have detained the truck drivers and others for their involvement in this incident.

Nazrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Sadar Upazila Food Warehouse in Chuadanga, said that the shipment of wheat imported from abroad started arriving at Chuadanga Food Warehouse from last February 1. In continuation of this, a shipment of 100 metric tons of wheat in 6 trucks of Sarkar Enterprises, Jonaki Paribahan and Sunrise Jute Traders, which left from Khulna Ghat No. 4 on Sunday morning, arrived at Chuadanga Sadar Food Warehouse.

The authorities have detained truck driver Rabbi, son of Bajlu of Boyra area in Khulna, truck driver Rabiul, son of Majid of Mongla in Bagerhat, Helal Sheikh, son of Mujibar Sheikh of Khulna Customs area, truck driver Saiful of Sonadanga area of Khulna, truck driver Asad, son of Akkas of Joraget area in Khulna and truck driver Nannu, son of Siddique of the same area. 

After this incident, on the order of Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Aminul Islam Khan, a 3-member committee was formed with Alamdanga Upazila Food Warehouse Officer-in-Charge Abdul Hamid, Sadar Upazila Food Warehouse Officer-in-Charge Nazrul Islam and Technical Food Inspector Nasreen Banu for submitting a report in this regards.
