Chuadanga College steps into 60th year

Chuadanga Government College has stepped into 60 years in 2022. This oldest educational institute are providing higher education of the students in Chuadanga and adjoining district. The present government has built three separate multi storied buildings and the college administration has turned into natural beauty making follower and other garden on the campus. 

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman addressed at a mass gathering on the campus of the college in 1969. Several lakhs of people including students, men, common people and women attended at the meeting to see Bangabandhu and listening his speech. The people of the district are proud of for foot print of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the college, sources added. 

Many students of the college are now high officials, political leaders and highest position home and abroad. Many of them are enjoying retirement and some of them expired. 

Five storied female students’ hostel, five storied examination building and five storied business studies education building have been made by the present government for the students of the college. On the other hand six flowers garden and others trees garden are on the campus of the college. For this reason the campus has created a beautiful natural college. Visitors, students, teachers, guardians and inhabitants of the district fell proud of over the college. 

It may be mentioned here that the result of the college in any certificate and Degree exams are the best in other colleges of the district.  Chuadanga College was established on the premises of Chuadanga VJ High School in the townin 1962. It is the oldest college in Chuadanga district. Rejaur Rahman was the founder principal of the college. The college was nationalized on May 7 in 1979. The college is renamed as Chuadanga Government College later.

The college is situated on 18 acres of land. About 13 subjects have been introduced in the college for honors course. There are nine subjects for master degree. Besides HSC course and Degree (pass) course are in the college. About 10,059 students are enrolled in HSC, Degree course (pass), honors and master degree. A total of 63 teaching staffs have been teaching the students in different courses. At least 11 revenue and 50 none revenue staffs have been working in the college. 

Under the supervision and direction of Principal Dr. AKM Saifur Rashid, thecollege hasbecome natural beauty, attractive atmosphere and colorful area on the campus due to making flower gardens at different points and around the buildings where flowers have blossomed. 

Teachers are taking online classes in the period of pandemic. Students have also been taking part this classes virtually. Government orders are followed in the period. The teachers, students and guardians are alert to obey their duties, sources added. 

Some students of the college took part in the liberation war in 1971 at the call of Bangabandhu Sheik Mujibur Rahman as freedom fighter. Among them, Solaiman Hoque Joarder Selun was the student leader of the college before and after liberation, who motivated the students of the college to take part in liberation war. He is now MP of Chuadanga-1 constituency and former Whip.
